We are excited to welcome Pastor Rachel Kwashe to our congregation as of July 1, 2025. For the past four years, Pastor Rachel served Winstead UMC in Wilson. She graduated from Duke University in 2021 with a Masters of Divinity and is an Ordained Elder.
Born in Raleigh, Pastor Rachel spent most of her childhood living in Michigan. She comes from a long line of United Methodist pastors and missionaries and is a talented musician and singer. Her husband Kuda is the Associate Pastor for Youth and Mission at Millbrook UMC in Raleigh. They enjoy getting reacquainted with the Triangle area and spending time with their two dogs, Groot and Chamabelle.
Michelle Kobi joined Macedonia UMC in June 2019. She grew up in Binghamton, NY. Her undergraduate degree is from Houghton College, where she majored in Psychology & Christian Education. She continued her education at Asbury Theological Seminary where she received a Masters of Arts in Religion in Christian Education & Missions.
Michelle enjoys reading and walking. She loves to spend time with her nephew & niece playing or baking. Her greatest joy is to see how learning opens a child’s eyes to new opportunities. Michelle lives to share the good news of Jesus’ love with children and help them see Scripture come alive and speak to their hearts.
A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Darrick King has been musically active in the church since a young age. He grew up in the Baptist church, but has served as music director and accompanist across various communities of faith. Darrick attended Winston-Salem State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. In 2015, he earned his Master of Arts in Choral Conducting from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. Darrick has taught high school vocal music in Maryland and North Carolina. He is currently serving as Assistant Principal at Carroll Magnet Middle School in Raleigh, NC. Darrick loves spending time with family and close friends.
Debi joined Macedonia in early 2012, providing administrative support to the Pastor, staff and lay leadership of our church. She and her husband Steve are also faithful members of the church. Debi’s normal office hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Madison is a compassionate childcare professional with over 6 years of experience taking great care of young children. She joined us in 2024 and has completed our required Safe Sanctuary training. The children in her care love her! Madison has an Associate’s Degree in Arts from Wake Technical Community College.
