What to Expect

Worship With Us.

Corporate worship changes our hearts and connects us to God at Macedonia.

First of all, Welcome.

Our one hour Sunday Worship service includes a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary music, readings from the Bible, prayer and a sermon. Each Sunday, we celebrate communion where God’s table is open to everyone. We believe that communion is central to worship and is a time to experience God’s grace each and every week.

What to Expect.

I’m not Methodist, can I come?

Pull up a chair! No matter what you believe, you’re welcome at Macedonia! We welcome and encourage all people to join us as we grow in faith together.

What version of the Bible do you use?

Typically, Pastor Rachel teaches from the Common English version of the Bible. But we aren’t picky! Learn from whichever version of the Bible you can easily read and understand.

What should I wear?

We care about people’s hearts, not what they are wearing. Most of our congregation tends to dress on the business casual side, but you’ll see jeans and shorts too. Just be comfortable and come as you are.

It’s my first time! Where do I go?

Our church has a few entrances, one off of Jones Franklin Road and the other off of Tryon Road. Our main entrance is located behind the sanctuary and there is handicap parking on the Tryon side. Follow the signs as you drive in. Our greeters will be waiting at the door to welcome you, where they can direct you to a comfortable seat in the sanctuary and your children to the appropriate space for children’s programs.

Will I be pointed out as a first timer?

We strive to be a welcoming community of followers of Jesus Christ. You will be embraced with unconditional love and treated kindly; however, no one will ask you to stand up and introduce yourself right away. We will respect your time to decide if Macedonia is right for you.

I’ve attended worship a few times, what’s next?

Macedonia 101 is a great way for those who have been visiting to have some of your basic questions answered about Macedonia. Check the calendar for the next session of Macedonia 101.  Pastor Rachel is always willing to meet with you to get to know you better.  Look here to see where else you might be a part of the church – ServeGoConnect

What childcare is available?

Childcare is provided from 10am through the end of worship service. Infants through 2 year olds have nursery care staffed by our Nursery Assistant, Madison. Our 3 year olds through 2nd grade participate in a program called Godly Play.  3rd-5th grade students have their own time to learn more about their Bibles and how to read them.  All of our 3 year olds through 5th graders are brought back to the Sanctuary to participate in Holy Communion.
